Elizabeth – Chef, Food Blogger & Recipe Developer
I’m Elizabeth, a 31-year-old self-taught chef and food blogger originally from a small seaside town in County Clare, Ireland, now living in Brooklyn, New York. While I don’t have formal culinary training, I’ve spent the past two years developing my skills through hands-on experience, countless hours of testing recipes, and learning from both successes and kitchen disasters.
Where You Might Know Me From
My recipes have gained a following on social media, with several posts going viral on Facebook and building a wonderful community of home cooks who love simple, delicious food. I’m currently working on expanding my reach through food photography features and guest collaborations with other food blogs.
Life in Brooklyn
I share my Brooklyn apartment (and way too much food) with my partner Joe, a 34-year-old data engineer from the south of France. We met in London five years ago, and while his main contribution to the kitchen is eating everything I make, he’s been invaluable in helping me build and manage this blog from the technical side. When I’m not cooking, you’ll find me riding my bike around Brooklyn, running to burn off all the calories, or curled up with a good book.
Why I Started This Blog
This isn’t my first time blogging about food. I had built a significant following on my previous blog, but unfortunately lost the entire website when I became seriously ill and had to step away. During my recovery, I heard from so many people who missed my recipes and the community we’d built together. Honestly, I missed them too, and I missed the creative outlet that cooking and sharing recipes gave me. Creating content makes me feel good, and knowing that my recipes help people cook delicious meals at home is incredibly rewarding. So about a year ago, I decided to start fresh with this new site.
My Cooking Style
I believe in cooking with comfort and joy at the center of everything. My recipes focus on pasta dishes, freshly baked bread, and indulgent desserts (though I’m expanding to more categories soon). I occasionally incorporate family recipes and Irish food traditions, but mostly I create dishes that feel approachable and satisfying. Every recipe is tested multiple times in my own kitchen before I share it, which means Joe gets to be my (very willing) taste tester. My goal is simple: help you cook restaurant-quality food at home without fancy equipment, complicated techniques, or ingredients you can’t pronounce.

When she’s not in the kitchen creating delicious dishes with me, she works in car dealership. Cooking is her true passion and hobby, and her Italian expertise adds authenticity to many of our recipes.
Joe – Photography & Technical Support
The man behind the camera and the tech wizard keeping this blog running smoothly. Joe handles all our food photography and manages the technical side of the website. He’s also our most honest (and most fed) taste tester. When he’s not helping with the blog, he works as a data engineer and claims his main job here is “eating everything Elizabeth and Elise make.
EDITORIAL STANDARDS
How Our Recipes Are Developed
Every recipe on this site goes through a rigorous testing process before it reaches you. I research cooking techniques and review multiple versions of recipes to understand what works best. Each recipe is tested 2-3 times in my own kitchen, and my cousin Elise independently tests them as well to ensure consistency and reliability. We make adjustments based on feedback from our community and continue refining recipes to guarantee they work perfectly in your home kitchen.
Content Updates
While I don’t regularly go back to update older recipes, I do make updates as needed based on reader comments, questions, or new research. If something can be improved or clarified, I’ll revise the recipe to ensure you always have the best version available.
Sources & Transparency
When I adapt techniques or draw inspiration from other sources, I always provide proper credit. I occasionally cite cooking techniques from trusted chefs and reference cookbooks or reputable sources to ensure accuracy. Nutritional information provided is approximate and meant as a general guide.
I’m completely transparent about sponsored content and affiliate links—if I ever include them, I’ll always clearly disclose it. Most importantly, I’m honest about my cooking experiences. If a recipe didn’t work perfectly the first time or if there are common pitfalls, I’ll tell you about them so you can avoid the same mistakes.
You can trust that every recipe here has been thoroughly tested and is written with your success in mind.
